Spring Choir provides the highest quality music education. We use child-developmental approaches to introducing skills according to the capabilities of children based on the Kodaly approach, Orff approach and Dalcroze Eurhythmics.
Spring Choir builds an immersive music environment for students to enjoy the beauty of music. Through the best musical education and joyful singing, students will build self-confidence, imagination, develop teamwork skills while improving their singing skills.
In the 8th World Choir Games held in Riga, Latvia in 2014, The Spring Children’s Chorus from Shanghai, China led by Wenbo Deng (the founder, the conductor and artistic director of SMA) won the Gold Medal First Prize for the ‘Children’s Choirs’ group and Third Prize for religious group at the Champions Competition.
We utilize the Kodály, Orff, and Dalcroze Eurhythmics approaches for children ages 5-7, inspiring them to explore, experience, and create their own musical world. (Class E)
The Preparatory Children's Choir Class is composed of choristers between the ages 7-10
(Class C & D).
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of choir and music theory.
The Basic Children's Choir Class is composed of choristers between the ages 9-12 (Class B).
This class builds upon the skills acquired in the beginner class, as students continue to work on their choral abilities and music reading.
The Advanced Children's Choir is a treble choir for auditioned choristers between the ages 9-16 (Class A).
Singers are placed in choir levels according to age, maturity, music ability, theory knowledge and space availability.
*Audition required. 1 minute self-introduction and 1 minute singing.
